Description:
A selection of phenomenal early work by J. S. Bach’s second son, this was my first CD recording.
More direct and rhythmic than his later music, these are melodic, and full of drama and contrasting moods.

Reviews:
Booth is a very fine performer – certainly in complete sympathy with C P E Bach’s style, consistently making the most of the music’s quixotic mood changes without losing a sense of coherence.
Continuo
The music is strongly appealing and always, to a greater or lesser extent, experimental…. In short, this recital is well worth becoming acquainted with, above all for the music but also for the sympathetic playing and the distinctive sound of the Mietke harpsichord.
Gramophone
The music is astonishing in its variety of gesture and invention… projected with panache, wit, and understanding, in Booth’s excellent performances.
